React Engineer

Job Title: Senior manager AI, ML and Optimisation engineer (Lead) Location: Primarily based in Hanoi with the option for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Department: Data & AI in Real Estate and Retail Sector Reports To: Director of Data Science and AI Product Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead/Principal Data Scientist to lead complex data science projects and drive strategic insights. This role requires expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, LLM and data storytelling to influence business decisions and product strategy. The ideal candidate should have strong build and lead (cross functional) team, the vision to foster data driven culture, and a strategic problem solving. Key Responsibilities: • • • Define and execute the strategic vision for Data Science and Optimisation across multiple business lines. Lead, grow, and inspire a team of data scientists and ML&AI engineers. Stress shaping product strategy, influencing executives, and aligning AI initiatives with corporate goals. •Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, etc.) from different lines of business and presenting to key stakeholders, partners, ... •Overseeing analytics projects, including data extraction, cleaning, modeling, and interpreting results, while leading senior team members on data-driven solutions •Mentor and provide technical guidance to senior data scientists. •Evaluate and recommend new tools, techniques, and technologies to improve analytical capabilities. •Promote the integrity, accuracy, and usability of data sources and models Qualifications: •PhD/MSc in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field. •8+ years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years in leadership roles. •Deep knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch).•Experienced in leading initiatives leveraging LLMs, combining project leadership with practical technical expertise •Strong track record of influencing executive stakeholders and driving business transformation through data. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire teams and translate complex concepts into strategic insights. • Preferred Skills: •Familiarity with version control tools like GitLab. •Knowledge of model deployment in AWS, GCP, or Azure and experience with data engineering tools (e.g., Spark, Airflow, or dbt). •Domain experience in retail and estate/property management is a plus. •Exposure to data privacy, governance, and responsible AI practices.
